There's characters who will call you out for your productivism and the more you open up the warehouse, the more you cause the squatters within the place to be more susceptible to the police. ![]() The entire game is oriented around the difficulty of building a commons. You're supposed to be fumbling about and trying to get things sorted out. There's no hand-holding or clear narrative/gameplay arc. Everyone is unsure what to do next and that's the "meat" of the story, so to speak. This is implicit in the narrative, the lack of tutorials, and the NPCs you recruit. Rather, you are supposed to figure out what you're supposed to do. However, even if that was fixed in the near future, it will still be a controversial title.Ĭontrary to people's expectations and the articles/reviews written about it thus far, this game is not supposed to be some base builder. ![]() Part of it comes from the silly bugs like bad pathfinding and questionable game design decisions. I feel Common'hood is one of those games that will be forever polarizing. TL DR: It's not a DIY base builder, but it is a game about conflicting narratives on commoning.
